A Tennessee Tradition since 1988
In the spring of 1987, the Springfield Middle School basketball coaches were sitting in their office discussing the need for a statewide post-season middle school tournament. They felt that when a team enjoyed a good season, it deserved a chance to compete against teams from other geographic regions of the state. A student who had been listening to the conversation asked a simple question: “Why don’t you do a tournament yourselves?” From this question, the T-N-T State Tournament was born.
Throughout the past 29 years, we have seen many changes and tremendous growth in the T-N-T State Tournament. As we look back over our history, we are amazed by and appreciative of the tremendous support of the many school and community volunteers and sponsors that have worked with us to make this a tournament that all of us can be very proud of. As we build a new generation of T-N-T Tournament leaders and celebrate our 29th T-N-T Tournament, we thank everyone throughout the years for their efforts in supporting us, and we intend to make sure that all involved will continue to strive for the continued growth and excellence that will help make the T-N-T State Tournament one of the best in the nation. We are both proud and honored to have been a part of the past 29 years, and we look forward to many more!
